The Devon Way Youth Centre is home to five regular groups plus others as required, and most of these cater for youngsters who need extra help and support for a number of different reasons.

These groups are really important for the young people, as they have the chance to socialise and make friends. Parents also really appreciate the confidence that their children gain from mixing with others. The young people come from across Kingston, most being local.

It is essential that these services are retained at a location that is accessible for everyone. A Sensory Room was opened just before Christmas for the use of disabled children – this must still be available to them.

Our vulnerable young people need all the support they can get.

Please do have your say and if you agree, sign the petition and respond to the consultation below.

The future of the building?

The future of the building has to be decided as yet. If it is not to be used for the young people it was designed for, it must be used for the community. Should there be any suggestion that the land could be used for development the Liberal Democrats will be totally committed to opposing any building on the site.

If Devon Way does have to close, we will campaigning to keep these vital services where they need to be.
