Lib Dems sad to see Kingston Council Chief Executive pushed out

Today in a Council press release, the Borough found out that the long serving Chief Executive, Bruce McDonald, has left the Council’s employment.

Kevin Davis Backroom Deal

Speaking about Bruce McDonald’s time on the Council, Liberal Democrat Group Leader, Councillor Liz Green said,

“I was taken aback by the news as it was totally unexpected! I am disappointed to learn Bruce McDonald has gone, he had huge respect across the Borough and certainly didn’t deserve to leave this Council through a back room deal, forced through by Conservative Leader of the Council, Councillor Kevin Davis.

Thanks Bruce

I sincerely wish Bruce every success for the future and on behalf of Liberal Democrat Councillors, past and present, I would like to thank him for the loyalty, commitment and steadfast devotion he has given to the Borough, particularly during our Administration.

Under the Liberal Democrat Administration, he was certainly ambitious for Kingston and worked hard to protect front-line services for residents and our communities. He led the way for the Council and together we successfully transformed services saving over £34 million. He masterminded Destination Kingston, One Council and latterly other One Kingston Programmes as new ways of working and commissioning services were developed and new shared service agreements were set up with other boroughs. (ICT, HR, Achieving for Children.) The Rose Theatre would not have opened without his leadership."
