He said: “Kingston’s Liberal Democrat-run Council is committed to being a Fairtrade Borough. We offer Fairtrade products at meetings, public events and even in ‘snack boxes’ in our offices.

"I am immensely proud to support the campaign for a better deal for disadvantage farmers and workers in the developing world.”

Honoured

Cllr Ricketts is honoured as a ‘sustainable alumni’ star by Kingston University for his work with local charities and for environmental campaigning.

He is currently working as a project co-coordinator for Kingston Eco-op who have placed Fairtrade snack boxes throughout Kingston Council offices, encouraging additional donations for charities based in the local community.
