Stop the pink shop petition

The Building of Townscape Merit that was Turners Jewellery Shop has been painted bright pink!

The nail salon that is opening in the unit after Turners closed at the end of last year has planning permission. In their planning application the owner said “the unit will ensure there is no undue loss of character within this part of the conservation area”. We believe that painting it shocking bright pink affects the historic building and the conservation area.

Planning law cannot help as it specifically allows for the application of paint to a building, even in a conservation area. So we hope that people power will get the owners to change their minds.

I call on the owners of the nail salon at 31 Victoria Road, Surbiton, to remove the shocking pink colour from the frontage and restore it to a suitable colour enhancing the historic elements of this building.
