I am sure like me, you value our local community in Tolworth, Hook, Chessington and Surbiton. We live in a fantastic location within the Royal Borough of Kingston. I am proud to be a part of this community and want to ensure that the local people who make up this community, have their say in how it is shaped.

This point can be clearly demonstrated in just one example - the potential development on the Tesco owned brownfield site on Hook Rise South. Local people MUST have their voices clearly heard in how this development takes shape.

The pressures

  • on local infrastructure,
  • the potential impact of extra traffic on Tolworth roundabout, and
  • the impact of local services, from transport to healthcare,

must be seriously considered.

As your local Councillor I will be the local mouthpiece for Tolworth residents and represent your concerns.

As many of you know, one of your local Councillors, Vicki Harris, has stood down for personal reasons, forcing this by-election and giving me the opportunity to stand in her place.

Vicki has served Tolworth and Hook Rise for many exceptionally hard-working years. On the doorstep I am constantly reminded of the community focused, personal and genuine way she represented our community. I am very privileged to have been given the opportunity to continue her work.

Having grow up in this community, from Tolworth Juniors to 1st Tolworth Scouts, I know it well, it genuinely matters to me.

I learnt whilst serving as a Special Constable with the Metropolitan Police how important it is for communities to engage in the shaping of their community - I hope that you will choose me to be your local representative and we can work together to make sure the voice of Tolworth is heard loud and clear.

So whilst this Council by-election will not affect who runs Kingston Council it will be an opportunity for residents, however they normally vote, to give their verdict on plans for our area and to elect a Councillor who will be a strong voice, working with residents, to fight these plans as long as they ignore local people.
