Born in Liverpool and brought up in Norfolk I served an apprenticeship in mechanical and production engineering which led me to the BBC in London, working up to Line Producer in the BBC’s Drama department. I worked on many of the BBC’s well known dramas and also enjoyed stints in the News, Entertainment, Science and History departments.

I moved to Surbiton from Ealing some 22 years ago and have never regretted that decision. I have enjoyed living in the borough and making use of all its fabulous facilities. I am married to Veronica and am currently a full time father looking after my 2-year-old daughter Holly. We are expecting our second child in mid-April. Switching from full time employment to being a full time dad has been a real eye-opener for me and, while I feel privileged and really enjoy the special time I can share with my daughter, I had no idea just how demanding and time-consuming this was going to be.

For this reason I am keen to make sure that the council continues its policies on education and children’s facilities within the borough. Like all parents I also want to ensure a safe and sustainable environment for my children’s future. I would like to hear from people within Surbiton Hill to see what they would like changed or improved. If I am fortunate enough to be elected I will represent the residents of the ward to the best of my ability, using a friendly, common sense approach to the issues put before me.
