Kingston schools will get nearly £2million more through the Liberal Democrat Pupil Premium national policy. Every school will get £600 per pupil per year for each pupil who currently gets, or has in the last 6 years received, free school meals.

Liberal Democrats in Parliament have also delivered on free nursery places for more disadvantaged two year olds from next year, helping ensure they achieve their potential and enabling teachers to teach the whole class.

Overall children in Kingston achieve above national averages for attainment, but there is still a gap between those who receive free school meals and those that do not. Closing this gap must be, and is a priority for our national party and for us locally. This extra money given directly to our schools will help to do that.

You can download a list of all the schools in Kingston showing how each will benefit from the Pupil Premium.
