Election statement

I have lived in the Canbury ward for fourteen years. I have worked in the music business for over thirty years and last year I sold my business to make a career change. I grew up and went to school locally, attending Thames Valley Grammar School in Twickenham. I was also a member of The Chapel Royal Choir, Hampton Court for eight years. I am currently studying psychology at Richmond College and for two days a week I volunteer as a counsellor at ASCA in Surbiton where I work in one on one and group therapy with addicts and alcoholics.

I am passionate about becoming a councillor for Kingston and making a difference. Some of the local issues that affect everyone and have room for change are recycling, abuse of the 20mph speed limit, better management of road works and litter on our streets. I have several ideas concerning all of the above.

Susan Kramer has already shown that making changes for the better in hospitals, transportation and schools can be achieved. Consequently I believe that more local residents should take part in neighbourhood meetings. If elected I would put together a data base of all email addresses for Canbury ward residents so that due notification could be given. I believe regular contact with Canbury ward residents is important for good communication on local and council issues.
