Petition to improve the K4 bus service
According to the Mayor of London, every Londoner should live within 400m of a bus stop with a good bus service. Many residents in Surbiton and Chessington not only live over 400m from a bus stop, but the service is very poor. The K4 bus only runs every half an hour with no service on Sunday!

Local councillor Tricia Bamford has slammed a change in the timetable for the 71 bus route, which is under the Mayor’s control.
Cllr Bamford spotted the change when travelling to work on Tuesday of this week and was able to take photographs of the new and old timetables as they were being taken down.

This was in direct response to two objectives in the community plan. Through the plan, local residents had asked specifically for the junction be made safer and less congested and also for TfL engagement with residents to improve.

Cllr Tricia Bamford of Chessington South ward has met with Caroline Pidgeon, the Vice Chair of the London Assembly’s Transport Group to discuss problems affecting the A243 Hook Road - Leatherhead Road.
At the request of South of the Borough Liberal Democrat councillors, Cllr Bamford invited Caroline Pidgeon to look at issues on the A243. Tackling issues affecting this busy road are also a key component of the South of the Borough Neighbourhood Community Plan.

The purpose-built residential and day care centre was a Liberal Democrat Administration initiative which opened in April 2009, providing support services in the heart of Chessington.
