Environmental Champion chosen for Tudor by-election

Marilyn Mason for Tudor ward

The North Kingston Liberal Democrats have chosen Marilyn Mason, a local environmental champion, to fight the Tudor ward by-election on 16th October.

Marilyn, a former teacher and active volunteer for a variety of community projects was recently nominated by the Surrey Comet as an “unsung hero” for her work promoting green living.

Marilyn organises riverside litter-picks, tidy ups and wildflower-planting. She is the Co-Chair of the Kingston Environment Forum, and a member of Transition Town Kingston and the Kingston Bio-Diversity Network.

Campaigning for you

Marilyn is campaigning to make recycling easier for all residents. She wants the streets of North Kingston to be made safer for all. She is passionate about protecting our green spaces and will make this a priority if elected on to the Council.

Marilyn was also one of the key activists who ensured that the new school in North Kingston would be inclusive, open to children of all faiths and none.

Marilyn said: ““I have lived in Tudor ward – on Lower Ham Road – since 1998 and I am standing in this election because our area needs a councillor who will put the environment at the heart of everything she does. We've had Tory councillors for 24 years and we need a fresh voice to help make Tudor an even more peaceful, green and enjoyable place to live”
