Friends of Churchfields established

Local Lib Dem Councillors are delighted that an inaugural meeting in January took place to establish the Friends of Churchfields — a community group with the aim to improve Churchfields Recreation Ground.

Before their first meeting even took place, the friends group had already planted 50 trees. And, together with the local Police team, pupils and teachers from Chessington School, Neighbourhood Rangers and the Community Development Manager from Idverde, they have done some sanding on the equipment of the playground at Churchfields to improve the current condition of the playground, with an eye for future development.

Another sanding session is already planned in addition to a session to re-paint the equipment.

Local Lib Dem Councillor, Andreas Kirsch, said, “It was great to have so many people joining us for our inaugural meeting in January. We were able to gather ideas on what we could do to improve Churchfields and the friends group is now looking forward to putting them into action.”
