New Malden Village ward candidate
Mark Durrant is a current councillor, and was motivated to stand after seeing how the Conservatives left the Borough on the brink of bankruptcy.
Mark is committed to contribute to the community. He has served most recently on the corporate and resources committee working to improve the financial position of the Council and improve local leisure facilities, and add more places at Burlington Junior School.
He is proud of his involvement we with local charities such as Oxygen which helps Young People turn against knife crime and has worked with The Good Food Coop to provide weekly meal boxes to the most needy on our community.
He is pleased to have been in the administration which has opened the Beeline Way which has been a lifesaver for many families during lockdown. As has been the investment in our parks.
Mark has lived in the ward for over 16 years now. He is married and his wife is a former teacher at a local school and has 3 grown up children.
Mark has a successful career in the city working for a major international media company as an Advertising Executive for over 22 years.
