Lib Dem run Kingston Council is to invest £1.3 million in our Borough’s parks over the next 3 years.
As part of the investment, the plan is to restore 3 local playgrounds: Beverley Park, Victoria Recreation Ground and King George's Recreation Ground. But Kingston Council also wants your ideas and thoughts on the plans.
Below is a list of the playgrounds that are set to receive investment and draft plans.
Victoria Recreation Ground in Surbiton
One of the three playgrounds receiving investment, Kingston Council is working with Wicksteed to design and manufacture this new playground. There are currently plans to enhance the footpaths as well as put in a trampoline, mirage seat, swirl roundabout, and many more.
Beverley Park Playground in New Malden
The fantastic park on top of Malden Hill will also be undergoing a makeover, and they will be getting new playground equipment. Beverley Park’s draft plans consist of adding an activity net, Flymobile, spin-a-bounce, and a 5 point swing.
King George’s Playground in Tolworth
Plans for King George’s Playground include new play equipment as well. This new design would be adding better access to the skate park, a wide slide, full log walk, Pick Up Sticks 3 with a steel slide, and a Trojan Ant Hill climber. King George’s Recreation Ground will also see investment in an outdoor gym. The outdoor gym will consist of a skier, chest press/pull down, sit-up bench, leg press, push-up bar, and callisthenics unit — great for keeping fit!
Before any of these plans are put into place, Kingston Council wants to hear from you. Events are taking place across the Borough, and you can also take part in a survey in your own time. Just visit the drop in event page.
