The Lib Dem Focus team has selected a strong local candidate for the council by-election, to be held in Grove ward, on 5th July.
Kingston resident Rebekah Moll says:
“I hope you will give me the opportunity to represent Grove Ward and to join the two other Lib Dem councillors, Chrissie Hitchcock and Barry O’Mahony, on the council. I promise to keep up the high standard of work that they have given over many years.
“I have worked in adult social care, and understand how important Council Services are to our residents. They rely on them and we need our Councillors to make informed and compassionate decisions.
“I will represent all the residents of the ward, to provide the services they need.”
A Great Honour
The by-election follows the sad news that Marc Woodall is stepping down as a councillor.
"It was a great honour to have been elected by you in 2010 and I am proud of what we have achieved locally in the many years the Lib Dems have been campaigning in this area and over the past two years that I’ve been a councillor.
"Together with Chrissie Hitchcock and Barry O’Mahony, I have worked with the community and the University to improve relations between students and local residents. We have worked hard on environmental issues, such as installing new energy efficient, and more economic streetlights and making more allotments available for residents.
Continue the good work
"I have also been working with residents, the local police and Kingston First to make the town centre a safe, enticing and varied place to visit. I want to ensure that all our good work is continued and ensure Grove ward and Kingston town centre continues to receive the best possible representation. So, I urge Grove residents to vote for Rebekah Moll to join Chrissie and Barry as three local Lib Dem Councillors. I am delighted to pass on the baton to Rebekah.
"Thank you very much for electing me to serve you; it has been a great experience and a privilege I will never forget."
