Councillors have voted to remove an unpopular ‘built out kerb’ at Buckingham Road after concerns were raised by residents.
The kerb that was introduced 18 months ago as a traffic calming measure has instead brought cars grinding to a halt during peak periods of the day.
It is hoped the removal of the 'built out kerb' will improve the flow of traffic along Villiers Road.
Lib Dem Councillor for Grove Ward, Rebekah Moll, said "The recent traffic measures have reduced the speed of traffic on Villiers Road. However, the islands have also made it hard for residents exiting Buckingham Road. We are pleased to say we’ll now be removing them".
