Local people have told us they're worried about vehicles speeding on the Upper Brighton Road.
Many elderly people, parents with young children and commuters use the zebra crossing near the junctions with Walpole Road and Lovelace Road have experienced 'near misses’.
We secured improvements to this crossing but Transport for London (TfL) refused to allow a signalised crossing to be installed. Despite that previous refusal by TfL, your local Lib Dem Focus team is continuing to campaign for a signalised crossing here.
Cllr Hilary Gander said: "It's important to us that all road users feel safe on our borough's roads and this popular crossing needs to be improved."
